We bought these for our daughter 4 yrs ago. They are adorable. I thought she would use them for teething. She just love to play with them. Our son however couldn't get enough of the carrot. He could be found with it in his mouth quite often. My children are now 4 and 2. They were still using the veggies in their play kitchen. They used the crate as well it is described as smooth and it is. It has never splintered. It's a beautiful way to display the veggies. I managed to convince My children to donate the veggies for their new brothers who should be arriving any day. I wonder how they will use them.
