Our Green House respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through www.ourgreenhouse.com, how we use and disclose it, and the rights and choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
In the past 12 months we may have collected the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers — name, email address, mailing/shipping address, phone number, account login details, and online identifiers such as IP address.
- Customer records & commercial information — products purchased or considered, gift recipients, order history, and customer-service communications.
- Payment information — payment-card details processed by our payment provider. Full card numbers are not stored on Our Green House’s own systems.
- Registry & gifting information — details you provide for a baby registry or to send a gift, including recipient details.
- Internet/network activity — browsing actions, pages viewed, and interactions, collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies.
- Inferences — preferences drawn from the above to personalize content and offers.
Information we treat as sensitive
We treat certain information with extra care, including any information indicating that a person is under 16 years of age. Because we offer a baby registry and children’s products, registry or recipient details may relate to a minor. We use such information only as needed to provide our products and services and do not use it for targeted advertising.
2. Where We Get Your Information
We collect personal information directly from you (when you shop, register, build a registry, enter a promotion, or contact us); automatically from your device as you use the Site; and from service providers such as our payment processor, shipping carriers, and analytics/advertising partners.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- Process, fulfill, and ship orders and manage your account and registry.
- Provide customer support and respond to requests.
- Personalise your experience and present relevant products.
- Administer contests, promotions, and surveys.
- Send marketing emails where you have opted in (you may opt out at any time).
- Deliver and measure advertising, including remarketing, consistent with your choices.
- Detect and prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and comply with law.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small files placed on your device that help the Site remember your cart, understand preferences, and measure traffic. We and our service providers (including Google, Meta, and LinkedIn) use cookies and similar technologies for functionality, analytics, and advertising.
You can manage cookies through our cookie-preferences tool and your browser settings. We also recognise the Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out preference signal: if your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the “sharing” of your personal information for that browser or device.
5. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers that operate the Site, process payments, ship orders, and provide analytics, under contracts limiting their use of the information.
- Advertising and analytics partners through cookies. Using cookies for cross-context behavioural advertising may be considered “sharing,” which you can opt out of (see “Your Privacy Rights and Choices” below).
- Authorities or others where necessary to comply with law, enforce our policies, or protect rights, property, or safety.
We do not otherwise sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing without notice to you.
6. Automated Decisions
Some privacy laws give you rights when a business uses automated technology to make significant decisions about you (for example, decisions affecting credit, housing, employment, or health care). We do not use automated decision-making to make significant decisions about you. If this ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide the required notice and choices first.
7. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information. We honour these choices for all of our customers:
- Know and access — the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Delete — personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct — inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” — of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Use the “Your Privacy Choices” link in our footer or send a GPC signal.
- Limit sensitive information — direct us to use information we treat as sensitive only as needed to provide our products and services.
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised your rights.
8. How to Submit a Request
You (or an authorised agent) may submit a request to the following email.:
- Email: [customercare@ourgreenhouse.com]
We will take steps to verify your identity before responding and will respond within the timeframes required by law (generally acknowledging within 10 business days and responding within 45 days, extendable once). An authorised agent must provide proof of authorisation, and we may still ask you to verify your identity.
9. Children’s and Minors’ Privacy
Our Site is intended for adults purchasing gifts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Information indicating a person is under 16 — for example, baby-registry details — is treated as sensitive, is minimised, and is not used for targeted advertising. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above — to fulfill orders, maintain accounts and registries, meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes — after which it is deleted or de-identified. Data is saved for 2 years.
11. How We Protect Your Information
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. Information submitted at checkout is transmitted using encryption (SSL/TLS), and access is limited to personnel who need it. If a data breach occurs, we will notify affected individuals and authorities as required by law.
12. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites with their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or practices and encourage you to review their policies.
13. Additional Disclosures for Certain U.S. States
Residents of some U.S. states have specific privacy rights, which are reflected in the rights and choices described above and honoured for all customers. The following additional disclosure applies to certain residents:
Direct-marketing information. You may request, once per year and free of charge, information about the categories of personal information we disclosed to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes. Send requests to [privacy@ourgreenhouse.com].
To exercise any right described in this Policy, use the methods in “How to Submit a Request” above.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post changes here and update the effective date above. Material changes apply to information collected after the change.
